Tarmo Uusivirta

}}
Tarmo ("Tare") Tapani Uusivirta (February 5, 1957, Jyväskylä – December 13, 1999) was a Finnish boxer who won the European Amateur Championship in 1979 and fought professionally from 1982 to 1992.
==Amateur career==
In addition to the European Championship in 1979, Uusivirta won the silver medal in the World Championships in both 1978 and 1982. His hopes for Olympic glory were shattered at the 1980 Games in Moscow with a second round loss to the eventual bronze medalist Jerzy Rybicki. The referee stopped the contest in the second round after Uusivirta suffered a cut in the corner of his eye.
Altogether, Uusivirta fought 171 amateur bouts and won 150 of them.
